Sam Vaknin is the author of Malignant Self-love: Narcissism Revisited and other books about personality disorders. His work is cited in hundreds of books and dozens of academic papers.
He spent the past 6 years developing Cold Therapy: a treatment modality for Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). Over the years, with dozens of volunteers, he found that it was effective with clients suffering from a major depressive episode as well.
She had been misdiagnosed, aged 19, with schizophrenia, and inappropriate treatments are given. Two further misdiagnoses followed. The antipsychotic medication she had taken for 56 years became unavailable, no warning; no substitute available. Author of scientific articles in clinical psychology field, focused on psychological assessment in health settings, mental health, psychosomatic illness, affective dynamics in psychopathology and personality disorders.
The focus of research include psychopatological and psychological vulnerability in life events, health settings, personality in lifespan, clinical psychodiagnosis of the emotional-affective and personological attitude in mental disorders, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis and analytical psychology, psychosomatosis and dermatological diseases, mental health of women, psychopathology of the postpartum.
